Neew Years 2009 by Christopher ShinThe winter lights
flicker through
the burning sunlight.
As ever year seems
so bright and new.
Old buildings echo
as the trumpets of
of ebony nights
filter through
the ancient walls.
We feast and drink
with chaos but
then next day witness
the maggots and spoils
that melt all around us.
Another year and
yet I feel more
detached then the
world that gives little
hope or inspiration.
I sense little love
or desire to find
a heart that makes
me desire to be happy.
Only the one thing that
is common in all dying
stars.
The unavoidable unattainable
end. 01/01/2009 Posted on 01/02/2009 Copyright © 2024 Christopher Shin
