have you ever put a fuse
in an apple pie
filled with forks and knives,
and pressed start on the microwave?


this feeling of fish hooks in my heart
is just the loneliness
of snow turning my world into a white quick sand
with who knows what underneath the surface.

pouring a cup of christmas cheer
should require a license from the state
and years of school.

after all,
hope is the design of intelligent investors on wall street.
