Bittersweet

by Alisa Js

in the center of my storm
you came to me,
full of grace, you flowed
compassionate and sweet,
you never judged
always there,
how could I have turned you
away?

my own insecurities
fueled my fears
from years gone by,
ever present
hiding there,
what a fool I was
to walk away,
but walk away, I did ...

and now my life, though safe
is full of bittersweet,
I ache for you
the promise, too
it's my owned damned fault
my own regret,
held too close to let you near
the thrill of me and you ...

Brilliant.

Oh I really like what you're saying here... it's almost tragic.
