redefine: fireproof

by Aaron Michael

i cross my fingers
and stand where smoke meets
fire to smother the flames,
eat the ashes
and die.

i wish i had the chance
to've been jesus
and take this flame for
more than a few

and come back for you.
and come back for you.
an angel never-ceasing
to be a trans(parent)
shield.
so that you will never burn

but will always learn.

This definitely feels like a song. And I could easily see myself digging it under those terms. Really liked this, man.
