Cents and sensibility by Aaron Michaeli try not to think
of how little i do.
what i do
does (it) matter,
is there more to
the question it begs
or am i truly part of that
cycle and constantly
chasing a tail
i recognize
but fail to grasp.
pennies make dollars
if you have enough,
but not sense.
and the sliver that
owns the pie
only begets slivers to
those that bake it
for them,
shaving hairs off bills
to pay for the
liters of sweat they give.
measured in monetary cents
what i accomplish is meaningless.
but when i take the bullet for someone
when i turn my head away from profit margins
when i bring arrogance back to reality
when i do all those
insignificant somethings
it compiles to make
a beautiful life
and that is free and priceless
and makes sense. 12/18/2008 Posted on 12/18/2008 Copyright © 2024 Aaron Michael
