One moment, reunited

by Amanda Bullington

Now that you're gone
I can disappear into the abyss
Another figure in a sea of strangers
When you pass me on the streets.

Someday you'll walk by
And I'll smile a soft smile
The slightest rememberance
Of what we once were.

And your face will make that
Sad grimace, the tightening
Of your lips that maybe only
I have seen.

Our eyes will catch,
And for that one passing moment
Our thoughts will be united again.

And as you pass I'll look away
Without a word as we
Return to the sea.

And I'm sure it would be like that everytime opportunity forced the two of you to pass each other by along the busy streets. Beautiful.
