"While We're Here and Hazy"

by Max Phineas

I'd give you the world off my shoulders
But you know it spins so fast
I can't slow it down long enough to breathe in time with you
And I know my footsteps
are always two steps behind you
But when the shadows disappear in sunlight
I know just where to find you
But you know I'm shy like hell is hot
So let me just remind you-
While it's late and my love is punch-drunk
And my mind is like a helium balloon

-That I just think you're beautiful...

"But you know I'm shy like hell is hot."--I love that line. Great stuff, but that line's definitely my favorite.

Ahhh, someone else is plagued with the curse of a mind in constant motion. It makes for good work when we can wrangle it a bit. I agree with Gabe, that's a great line.
