The Stars have Spoken by Megan GuimbellotI think a plane would do nicely today
Trains are too slow and I have no time left for street traffic//I just need the earth to spread itself beneath me in a blueblackbrowngreen palette/ a fresco on the most natural of backdrops.
I would shatter window glass and lick the clouds on my lips, taste the alititude.
It is safe to say that I am restless these days/ reckless these days in the December mornings and night is the only friend who makes me calm, makes me breathe and sleep and accept
Accept that I cannot write to keep you close, cannot craft to keep your heart// and while you may tell me otherwise I have met with the night sky and know this to be true:
that no one os as sincere as the north star and quarter moon. 12/08/2008 Author's Note: You can't compete with the ancients. And that's that.

Posted by George Hoerner on 12/08/08 at 08:49 PM Really quite a strong write. This is very well done. I doubt we can ever hold anyone through the words write except those that are spoken through our hands. |
Posted by Steven Kenworthy on 12/10/08 at 03:08 AM you write like you paint in your freetime...which i love. "taste the altitude"...ahhh, that's so nice. i think we're a lot alike...the night is so calming is it not? |
