Belgium Belfry

by Johnny Crimson

Sleeves flipped up
lets party
Cancel the rape case
I don't need a jury to convict me
your eyes do that

And I get lost when all my daydreams
suddenly carry into the night
and I'm frightened when I realize
that I was never alive

Just a ghost who sleeps his life away
something fucked inside the haze
But I swore I had a marriage
or maybe I was destined to be wed

I can't tell it's sort of hazy
let me give this 8ball a shake

"Not Likely" is what it told me
but still what difference does it make?

No one knows that I live up here
no ones come since WWII
Since the Nazis had us cornered
and we fled to this attic

No one's come to tell me it's over
so I guess the fuhrer lives

So I guess I'll get back sleeping
cause reality hurts to bare

My name was Quentin Danzering
but now it's just "who's there?"

"No one comes to tell me its over, so I guess the fuhrer lives" But who is more guilty here, the one who can't figure out for herself, or the ones who don't ever tell her? Never existing is not the same thing as having never meant to, having never intended to exist. Its sad how something that should be so innate and easy is so out of grasp for some people. Did this guy choose isolation or does isolation choose him. Well once you get there, how do you get out, or maybe its just the people who can't figure out how to get out who end up going there in the first place. Sort of like how the same types of people always manage to get into debt, even if it was easily avoidable in hindsight. But hats off to this poem and all those upstairs who meant to exist but just became the settling of the old house that has so many more rooms than we will ever know. That is to say, all the unborn sucked into their tubes and vacuums.
