Steak temperatures change
as do specials
and the 86 board
but seldom do the people.

Monday thru Thursday
the business suits roam
making deals with the devil
using catchy & repetitive speak.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
the wild clothing
and even more so
the smells emanate.

Pungent perfumes and
callous colognes
agitate even
the sturdiest of palettes.

When the economy is good
the suits bleed into weekends
showing the tourists
how to 'live large'

and when the economy suffers
the tourists bleed into weekdays
taking advantage
of a weakened dollar

but the suits still come
now to fan the flames
ravaging the emotions
of customers big and small.

People will always need to eat
and within that will find ways
to live in and around gluttony
until they cannot eat anymore.
