Life: not all that confusing

by Charlie Morgan

a dust-cloud from Linus' blanket
follows him home to Charlie Brown,
settles on the prairie of futures.

soon, too soon for some, late for others,
there will come the spurt of muscles, mind,
and all will crash at the vessel's twinkle.

a spider's wefted web glistens criminally.

church bells clang a begging for the Gift
in resonant tones, soft, speechless geometry
beckons the Heavens for velvet fruit's delivery.

as the colors weep to become one, greys to greens;
splinters into entire forests of healthy lumber.
all awaiting the Refiner's Fire, smelting all.

we use waves to wet our wings of the Glories.

Great picture Charlie! The metaphors are very nice.

Wow Chaz. I don't know if this will speak to anyone else, but it sure spoke to me. It still surprises me sometimes *giggle* when I'm reading one of your poems and suddenly it's just like you whispered it right into my ear, just for me. It's sooooo comforting to find souls that speak your language and even their pauses and clauses are laws inked in love. You make me smile.

I adored the opening imagery...the old Peanuts vision, everyone able to relate to every one of those characters' in one way or another. Linus, one of my favorites, his vulnerability showing as he dragged it along behind him. Your poetry of late has this quality about it - a sentimental lingering of things that haven't always happened yet. I'm particularly fond of it. And you.
