guidance counselor

by Jared Fladeland

when living a life,
there are certain rules and regulations
we must all abide by:

patience
because we are in a world of calculus,
where things don't just jump from one point to another,
they must accelerate and slow down
and the speed at which things move probably will never be constant.

stubbornness
because the things we want in life
will never just fall in our lap,
instead it is as if the things are trapped in marble
and we must chisel out of the rock what we so desire
(see above).

a dream
because while we can breathe,
our hearts can pump,
and we can contribute to society in proper order,
it means nothing without a dream to fuel our actions
and give intangible qualities to what we do.
