11. I Hope You Don't

by Arianna Woods

(full title: I hope you don't hate me as much as I think you do)

I slept on your couch

Every day for three months

While your family ate dinner

I didn't think you'd mind.

You didn't.

I never once asked for a diet Sprite

You already had one for me

Every day for four months.

You knew it would be

What I'd ask for.

Your window was always open

At one in the morning

To have a sleepover

Of the dirtiest nature

Between you and me only

Every night for five months

(I wouldn't walk three miles at midnight

For anyone else.)

You asked me every day for six months

If I wanted kids when we got married

I hate kids.

I said yes anyway.
