I Would Give You a Forgiving Smile by David Garner if I saw you again
My lips would curl inward
My cheeks would slightly inflate
A quick exhalation through my nose would shoot out
My ears and temples would subtly shift
My eyes would become instantaneously glassy, un-teary, but with a sudden sheen or gloss
If I saw you again

Posted by Alison McKenzie on 11/17/08 at 06:05 PM I don't think I've ever read such a precise description of what happens when a face takes on an expression. But, I'm left wondering what it REALLY means...hehe. |
Posted by Sandy M. Humphrey on 11/17/08 at 11:03 PM I found myself trying to mimic your words with my facial expressions and all the while feeling the mercy you might bestow, the anticipation of what someone might be expecting and the gratitude they may return...amazing poem. smh |
