The Wonder One by Eric Hinklewhen you get right down to it
i'm just a boy,
playing all day with my inseparable toys.
easily distracted and not getting much done
but doing what I love and having loads of fun.
i'm a wonderboy, filled with curiosity and delight;
a dreamer daydreaming dreamy dreams.
conjuring up fictitious mental movies of hopes and wishes;
a desire to aspire to aim for ambitious fantasies.
i motion this notion with a silent commotion.
my thoughts are an implicit thought collage,
a cognizant wordscape whizzing and whirling in my brain.
picking out, with a hint of apprehension,
but like a carefree child,
what to say or do at this time or that,
and wishing i had never a worry in the world.
and so with eyes like surveillance cameras
and ears like stethoscopes,
a memory like a computer's and
with the sensitivity of a fingertip,
i get ready, set, and go live my life
with the script of an improvised play.
