Contrast

by Vikki Owens

There is no contrast between you and I,
the way we lie next to each other
the separation of our bodies
is tone on tone.
Monochrome eyes, the four of them,
and if you laid yours on mine
it would look like nothing more than
two pieces of glass in water.
And when I move my hands over you
the camouflage is complete and
I disappear like a hunter behind a blind,
I can walk around in your skin
like a ghost in snow.
