from their view beyond the
foliage birds tweet and chirp
in unison with midday bell
chimes and distant barking


one november beam dips in
to my coffee cup sublime the
aroma unique when light
is the unexpected stirrer


a blue rose sentinels open the
page awaiting my imminent
reading reprise while indulgent
i pencil reminiscent notes on


conversations with trees savant
tales of when the San Francesco
bells chimed to girlish class-
room whisperings i now miss
