Bang! Bang! Bang! by Joe CramerBang! Bang! Bang!
The front door
reverberates
in a loud bang.
Now who has come a knocking?
It is indeed rather shocking
At this late hour.
I never answer,
Perhaps I was in the shower.
Was it a bill collector?
A process server?
An ex-wife?
Former lover or the like?
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Who now bangs at my door?
There's a doorbell you buffoon!
It doesn't matter anyway,
I never answer,
So go ahead, knock away
Come back again another day.
If you want me,
You know where to find me
Just look inbetween the lines
Of this pathetic poetry.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
I never answer the front door.
My friends know to call first,
Or at least go around back
And meet me in the Florida room.
At least there I'll greet them
With the coldest of brew.
(La cerveza mas fina!)
Then we can sit a spell,
Enjoying the evening
Away from all the noise
Of the banging on the front door.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Goes the front door.
You're becoming a bore! 11/10/2008 Author's Note: I sometimes get a lot of door knockers.... go figure.....

Posted by Nicole D Gregory on 11/11/08 at 03:25 AM That loud banging might be a messenger of peace... ha!... good write my friend! Send some warmth and sunshine my way... or it might be me knocking on your door. That's never a bore. ;) ~N |
Posted by Rhiannon Jones on 11/12/08 at 04:15 AM Well, it isn't me, I swear! Nicole may be right, though...Sometimes the "monster" around the corner, or on the other side of the door, turns out to be a good thing after all. :-)
Always your friend, -K |
