There are few things
more uncomfortable
than waiting on people
who are grumpy
and then expect miracles.

If you are aggressive
and hostile towards me
because you had to wait
the experience cannot be
what it could have been.

The well done steaks
you order
will not
finish cooking
in world record fashion

and I realize
my personality
is worth only so much
especially when
we are talking hunger.

So the next time
you wait for your table
realize
the waiter has done nothing
to keep you waiting.

It was most likely
the people who camped
at the tables before you
that made you wait
so spare us the grief.

We don't like
when you are unhappy either,
you see,
because grumpy people
don't tip all that well.
