So the meal continued
and everything seemed
that it couldn't go
any better
until the time came
to clear the plates
and something was
amiss.

Expecting the same
"everything is great"
response
this time
the mystery is unveiled
that the steak was:

"kinda fatty"
"too peppery
"under-done"
"over-done."

I can't help but wonder
why these facts
were not revealed
oh, I don't know,
any time during the meal.

When asked to cut
into the steak
as it first arrived
or during
the multiple check backs
and trained
"how's the steak?"
only two bites
into the meal.

Either you came
to spend over $40
for a steak
you wouldn't like

or

you now want
something free
and since
you have eaten
the evidence
there's no way
to figure out
the problem
so we'll give you
a piece
of cake
to get you
out the door.
