continuum by Maria Massarella
simple and unashamed you stand in semi-nakedness
no mist veils your metamorphosis - once
in autumned grief i would mourn the fall heart
torn by the anguished cry of shedded leaves
and now oh now oh how
my thoughts go to the song of trees
whose harmonious melody is renascent joy
lyrics word the unveiling as an art
when nakedness is not denuding nor
leaf's fall a sacrifice and in your
novemberness today O tree I see a sage
liberating the old making space for the new
and rather than weep for the death of leaves
i celebrate the everspring of your gestation
in my heart i envision you in emerald
renascent laughter rustling your resurrected
dress flirting whispernesses to the breeze

Posted by Steven Kenworthy on 11/09/08 at 10:22 PM about the fall, with a thousand images of the human body. this is pretty in whatever way you wish it to be with some glossy vocab and a verse that gives you the freedom to feel even more liberated to take what you want here. i just can't let it be about the season alone. too much heart in it. |
