From off the cuff
I'm writing this stuff

trying to ignore
a feeling I deplore.

When the light of today
becomes a weapon of dismay

I simply close my eyes
trying to disguise

the enduring pain
of this migraine.

While sitting or standing
turns so demanding

today's duties and desires
take a back seat with my ire.

With a stomach so nauseous
I can't help but be cautious

and taking some medicine
only makes everything worsen

as the room spins
common sense steps in

I need to eat
lay myself to sleep

hope this pain goes away
of another dreaded migraine.
