Suburban Daytime by Anastasia Selby
I rode through the streets,
Few cars
passed,
the houses sat quietly
on their well serviced
haunches,
their hands forming
triangles above the windows,
seemingly deep
in thought.
They gazed at me
as I passed them,
their blinds drawn.
The leaves tumble noisily
across the pavement,
and a few lone squirrels
crossed the street, fearlessly.
