Twilight

by Arianna Woods

Your beauty is impenetrable
Eyes like glass
Black marbles set in porcelain
Smooth as silk and irreproachable

You are more enticing than
The chance to touch God
More lethal than venom
Capable of draining the life from me
With the sharp snap of your jaw
Closing against my neck

You are untouchable
In the way demons should be
Invulnerable to the warmth
Of a mortal's touch
That I would bestow upon you

I would ask you to kiss me
Beg to feel your lips graze my pale skin
To tremble under the weightlessness of your fingertips
And I crave you like poison
Ache to feel you move in me
Just once like electricity
So completely absorbed in your
Cold, cruel magnetism
That I nearly forget

Your lust for the hunt
The kill
The blood coursing through my unsteady veins
The human liquor that keeps you sustained
Impenetrable
Irreproachable

That keeps me irrevocably

In love

With you

I think I'm the only person left on the planet who has not yet read this series, but this poem is really beautiful. :]
