Tragic Vision

by Quinlan L Gibson

I’ve harnessed the power to not care in less than a breath.
Inhale, exhale and become nonexistent.
A red satin stain draped on bright whites.
A murdered vow before you could even speak it to life.
Clean your conscience, lather your guilt.
Pummel me with apology.
Sacrifice your dignity by begging,
trying to explain something so blatantly wrong.
You decided.
I’m already weaving myself back together,
reconnecting my currents.
Dousing the wildfire whipped frenzied by betrayal and lies,
Poison gushing out of your eyes.
It seeps and reeks from your soul.
I’m just about to purge you.
Force you down onto the unforgiving concrete floor,
where you belong.
And instead of walking all over you.
I’ll decide to walk away.
And let you decay in your tragedy.
