Prayer by Jane E PearceShe seems to be more feverish
as the leaves float down this fall.
Do you see the eyes glazed
in disbelief as the hours fly
away this fall? We feed her
with pumpkin pie and hope
along with stories of waving amber grain.
.
She must not leave us who love her
and would die to save her from
strange faces with auras of alien ideas.
.
God, give us strength to keep her wise,
to keep her fortresses impregnable
to those who decieve with grand lies-
God save America. 10/25/2008 Posted on 10/25/2008 Copyright © 2026 Jane E Pearce

| Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 10/26/08 at 01:10 AM Amen! Your prayer underscores the distance from the founding principles this nation has gone. May God indeed save America. |
| Posted by George Hoerner on 10/26/08 at 03:30 AM I suspect the American Indians prayed for the same thing and look what we did to them. They might have been willing to share but wanted it all for ourselves. |
