Unhuggable

Was to enjoy a brief respite,
Perhaps a hug, pressed tight
Into your arms.
Especially since I thought I might
Enjoy this moment with you,
But it was not in the cards.
I touched you, several times
On the arm
Just to see
If there was any electricity.
Giving you no cause for alarm.
Though instead, you did not
Reach out to me.
I could clearly see
There there was simply
No chemistry.
