Grain of Salt

by Travis G Finborg

to accept a thing less then completely
I take with skepticism abound
absorbed and flushed out
it helps me swallow
these grains of salt
preserve my sanctity
an ancient way to prevent
decay and growth
price to pay
someday i will be left
as nothing but a pillar of salt
all of me absorbed by my skepticism

too many grains of salt

...travis, move over bubba, got room for me?...skepticism keeps us honest, eh?...well a good dose, but like you say too much is too much...good write...

I'd say you're in good company, man, especially where the talent for making this kind of point is concerned. Liked this a lot.

A bit, maybe more than a bit, of selfeffacing humor. Scepticism has its place--but let it be in very small doses and very focused! Not everything, everybody, every idea is fraudulent or manipulative!

Yes, I too live with the reality of Lot's wife.
