Holding the Crumber by Jeffrey ParrenLowering expectations
and consistent letdowns
of dining experiences
are readily seen
as we clear plates
and other clutter
the guest is so quick
(using new instincts)
to brush away
the crumbs and mess
onto that same floor
I have to sweep later.
While I stand there
holding the crumber
ready to clean up
I can't help but
want to yield
the innocent tool
as a weapon of learning
quickly rapping
knuckles or tabletops
to allow me my duties
and show a dominance
with a job well done. 10/17/2008 Posted on 10/17/2008 Copyright © 2025 Jeffrey Parren
