Faded

by Jessica Polanco

Can you see it in my face.

The faded glaze over my eyes.

The smile that has been worn down to nothing.

I sit and tolerate everything that is thrown at me.

For what?

For acceptance, i haven't achieved.

Perfection, i will constantly seek.

Lonliness is more then enough to drive into the deep insanity of oneself.

I shudder, not from the cold but from your presence.

Your heart is beating but you are empty inside, i laugh at this prospect.

Karma will never get you, you are too fast and nimble.

One day, when you slow the blank, glaze in my eyes will subside.

The aching in my body will disappear and you will fall from your grace.

I will wait but for now i will listen to every accusation and insult you throw.

One day.. Karma will catch up to you.

And you will have no one to blame but yourself.

"The smile that has been worn down to nothing." Nicely done!
