Up the climb
the alpha males
do go and

along the way
the functionality
of a straw is lost

because a man
sucking on plastic
clearly demonstrates

his inferiority
among other alphas
or worse

to those lions
vying for his perch
anxiously awaiting

that mistake
or office gaffe
or worse yet

that moment
he reaches
to suck from the straw

and loses focus
taking his eyes off
the prize.
