never eat like that again

by Blue Medley

Let’s promise never to eat like that again
Never to order the calamari
The BLT
Or the halibut
Let’s always remind each other of how we felt
The feelings we felt after we ate
You sitting there doing absolutely nothing except starring into space
Me passed out in the seat next to you
Then comes the waiter
“Would either of you like desert?”
Oh how could we resist such an offer?
Then we took it
Let’s promise never to order their desert
Their bread pudding
Or the crème brulee
Oh how we felt after
The drive home was a long and grueling journey
Over each speed bump agony
The hard stops at the red lights torture
At home in the bathroom
Paradise

This is one of my favorites. Witty and fun.
