Consistent

by David Garner

Consistent
I'd like to be

Like the waves in the ocean
Like the tides at sea

Like their luminous motion

Consistent
I wish it were it me

The waves always finish
What they always begin

They never crash out
Before they crash in

They're consistent
'Cause they've always been

The stars in the sky
And the waves of the ocean
They've got a rhythm
And they've got a plan
And I study their rhythm
And I follow their plan
And I take what they give me
I take what I can
And I learn from their movements to be a better man

Consistent
I'd like to try

(to be)

Like the stars in the night time
Like the moon in the sky

They always shine right at the right time

Consistent
So why can't I?

The stars may seem distant
But they're there to be found

They never burn out
Before they burn down

They're consistent
'Cause they've been around

Finish, begin, out, in, out, down, love the rhythm of this, great work.

I hear you singing this, in your rhythm, your pitch, your observations of nature vs. nature. I'm always able to visualize your words, which are a gift as always.
