Muses Moonlight Serenade (revised)

by James Zealy

Sing the song of Inspiration
To an audience of peers
Test our Appreciation
Of the gift to our ears

Their singing in the moonlight
Partying with the crew
Of inspirational mates
Our muses let us stew

By george they be on strike
Partying on the beach
While we swelter at our lack of sight
They're eating a juicy peach

Negotiation is ongoing
For a settlement to sign
So we can eschew their words purloined
As our creative genius in kind

Who knows the conditions
We will have to abide
As we wait on the propositions
In the contract they provide

Calliope, Erato and Polyhymnia laugh
As they Lead the negotiating team
While drinking a Goombay Smash
In this Paradise of dreams

Their advantage is unfair
We are completely suppine
We are absolutely without flair
Now just tell us where to sign

If it is cheese, it most certainly would be bleu! Truly enjoyable read.
