She spoke a language

That I did not understand.

I knew many,

I had said plenty

And yet, not enough.

I heard more words

Diversified

Than I ever wanted to know.

I let my feelings flow

Into this verse

It could not be worse

If I tried.

Okay, I lied.

She spoke a language

That I did not know.

I tried so hard

Not to let my feelings show

Or get in the way

For that matter.

What does it now matter?
