i wonder if you have ever thought of me
while you were tied up in conversation
with the many other "hers"

i wonder if you meant what you said
that i was the one you could marry
if that was truth
or your truth you tell just to appease me

i wonder if you will let me continue on my own
questioning the men i have around
asking if we are "dating"

i wonder if you will ever see things
the way i saw them
or if you will continue to convince yourself it would never work

i wonder if you will ever just see me
instead of questioning me
