Departure I

by Richard Vince

With my heavy heart I must be
Weighing down this train as it
Tries its hardest to drag me away...

Away from a day just imperfect enough
To remind me it was perfect.

Every moment with you is like
A jewel from the heavens: precious
And incomparably radiant.
My mind is the night sky, and
Memories of you are the stars,
Burning with million coloured light.

You're like raindrops: an infinite number
Of unique moments of refreshment,
Reflecting and refracting the light,
Giving life to the world around you.

I have a feeling your heaviness is like whipped cream to the universe...none of it a burden, and delicate in its beauty.
