it means you still think of me

by Nanette Bellman

i could get angry and upset and let it ruin my day completely.
you know, all those harsh words you said to me,
those words i thought you were incapable of actually saying.

i could fill the rest of my afternoon trying to figure out
how someone could use any one, if not all, of their 3 wishes
wishing the things you do on me.

i could sit here and wonder
"how someone could hate someone else so much?"
and think such nasty, awful thoughts.
and harbor all these negative feelings.

but it means you still think of me.

Women have a knack for this sort of work. I don't think blokes can carry it off. Great write.
