Poetry about Poetry about Nothing (& Guns)

by Racquel Cervantes

i've got a lifetime's
worth of
wasted
seconds
under my belt
three years of haunting visions
in my head
and now i've
a .7mm pencil
(Remington)
in my hand..
FREEDOM.

the lead is my summer breeze
paper, my fresh breath
of autumn air
and the eraser?
i like to think of it as
God's hand
pushing me toward better.
