The Sound of Silence by Gabe ZamoraOnly in the day do you hear it
But only at night does it come.
When its wanted it is never found,
Yet when its feared it is all around.
The sound of lonliness,
The sound of the unholyness.
Trust in the hope that it brings,
BeLIEve in the hate that it sings.
Fall back, its words so trusted,
Fall back on the nails that have rusted.
It stings like an open wound,
It takes the ones that have been found.
You hear it on the battlefield,
You know you must not yield.
Sitting alone,
Near the phone,
Waiting for the call,
Try Not to fall,
Moving too fast,
Here comes the past,
It came out of no where,
It crawls in the air,
No where to run,
Bleed out the sun.
Straight through your head,
Straight through your heart.
You lay on the floor shrowded in silence,
You lay on the bed; dead and lifeless.
Alone again, wanting what was once yours,
Alone again, covered in the sores.
The sound that has driven you mad,
The sound that is now your only friend. 09/12/2008 Posted on 09/13/2008 Copyright © 2025 Gabe Zamora
