Long Lonely Miles Slip by Far and Away

by Joe Cramer

Long lonely miles slip by, far and away

Drawing me from your side on this same day.

My heart slows in its prison as it breaks

Wondering what I can do, what it takes

To be in your sweet arms, once again.

Where to start? Where do I even begin?

This course to you is always so true, dear,

To hold you my muse, holding you so near.

Though more miles keep us far apart, distant,

Our hearts can bridge any gaps that are left.

It is you my love, my heart, my sweet muse,

As the words fail me, such words in abuse.

Be with me now, always and forever,

Loving each other more than not, ever.
