silently, she cries by Charlie Morgani hear the silent majority's mantra:
see me, hear me...see me, hear me!
my 60 year old warpaint is running
down my cheek shimmering in the light.
cracks in the cosmic time is my venue,
as i turn to the savannahs, grazing
on ideas, not spoiled but now fetid
from lack of use or exploration.
a singular, silent serendipity
of romance with the growing land;
a lost horizon of an inferno aboil,
found inside the guts of a Mother
as she hears the clinking, clanging
of guards changing shifts; stopping
any society of gangland's worsts' worse
from landing on her son's life's shores. 09/02/2008 Posted on 09/02/2008 Copyright © 2026 Charlie Morgan

Posted by A. Paige White on 09/02/08 at 04:55 PM This is so deep, Chaz. Love the "60 year old warpaint"... well, shooot, too many others to name here or I'd just have to copy and paste the whole thing in this box. Great stuff, darlin. You ARE my pathetic hero, ya know. Thanks for marking my day with your warpaint (aka as gentle kindness). You are a gem of a sweetheart. I appreciate you so much.
Posted by Nicole D Gregory on 09/02/08 at 06:12 PM The emotion on a global scale is so a part of this piece... Your heart must be so big, so full of depth, to paint such a picture with your words. I am always in awe of your energy, your capture of a moment - an emotion - a tear - a perspective, and how your convey it. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! Love with no boundaries... ~N
Posted by George Hoerner on 09/02/08 at 06:28 PM Really well done my friend and so timely. It is time for the 'silent majority' to truely stand up and speak at the ballot box and for once let freedom ring loud and clear!
Posted by Genevieve Sturrock on 09/02/08 at 08:15 PM 60 years is so far beyond my ken...i am only newly aware of the world outside my own skin...i am not ignorant of history and i find the current atmosphere dauntingly oppressive, almost sizzling with suppressed anxiety? anger? frustration? and a forlorn hope that maybe, just maybe, the changing of the guard in Washington will be for the greater good...maybe...
Posted by Alison McKenzie on 09/02/08 at 09:04 PM I don't know, it's not a silent cry to me. I "hear" it all the time, mourn with her, fret about a future full of mankind's foibles. But, us or no us, the earth is headed for a shift, that's for sure!
