the gaffer

by Maria Francesca

I love to watch the credits.

Not for the main people;
I already know who the star is,
and the director
and the producer --
I'm from California, after all.

No,
I want to know
who played
'Yelling Drunk Man on Street Corner'
or
'Policeman Number 3.'

I want to know
who was the gaffer
and
who wrangled the animals.

I'm pretty certain
it's because
I will never be the star.
I don't even want to --
all that attention?!
-yecch!

No,
I'm not certain what he does,
but somehow
I feel
like a gaffer:

I don't run the show
but
you need me around to get things done.

I like that.

Still...

I really,
really
would like to direct.

Lol great write. Love it. We look out for Fitzgerald (There is usually one) and I always tell my boy that it's cousin "Bob" or whoever.
