Gurgling

by Joe Cramer

Tick, tick, tick, tock

Booms the clock.

The kitchen is never quiet.

My refrigerator sits

Nonchalantly in the corner

Quietly gurgling flatuently.

I sit silently, as I am able,

Somber at the kitchen table

Which is my dining room too.

Dimly, I can almost view

The Rorschach wine stains

On the kitchen rug.

I shrug.

What's the difference anyway?

The kitchen is quite quiet,

I never eat in it.

Author's Note: ... I couldn't sleep the other night, so I sat quietly in my kitchen, this was one of the results...
