cosmic surgery

by Mary Frances Spencer

snip away
passive sagging
lethargy

lighten
hanging dark circles

smooth
soothe the fearful
furrows

tighten
greedy jowls
overflowing rigid collars

peel away
angry layers

lift all hearts

under the karmic knife
we all are beautiful
faces of
peace

Author's Note: Not sure if this is "done"...just wanted to find a way to cut through the superficial. Feedback???!!! MFS

Yes, we could all use a little of that couldn't we. Well said.

i have trouble remembering that we're all beautiful underneath. actually, that's not true. i have trouble seeing that about myself. everyone else is stunning in my eyes. and this poem is great.
