do you suppose
the nose knows?
it is too big
for his little face
a stoic projection
floating amid
little boy glee
mature and imposing
above a snaggled grin
commanding and proper
beneath mischievious eyes
in profile i glimpse
a shadow of the man
he will grow to be
and the nose
points the way
i suppose
the nose knows
more than i

Author's Note: little man was born with a nose that belongs in a grown man's face. i am happy to say that little by little he is growing into his nose. but sometimes it strikes me funny to see this rowdy little boy with his grown up nose.

But which is worse big nose or big ears. Certainly there was a time when man, the hunter, used it much more than we do today.
