Beautiful choice
all the beautiful choices
made along the way
the gilded cage
she crafted out of
the thirty mile radius
from her hometown
her broken heart
the redundant circle
drawn in the sand
binding her there
among cast off dreams
and dying hope
bitterness honed down
to a fine instrument
sharp with hate
choking on self-loathing
all the beautiful choices
made along the way
spelled out
h-a-p-p-i-n-e-s-s
on her gravestone
