which end of the rope? by Angela Thomasshe comments all over your facebook page. and i care
for a second. then i stop and think - about brunch
at redemption, the view from the top of the met, the ac
churning in the theater in times square, shots at phoebes
bar, and answering the door in nothing but some lace drawers.
i care for a second and then i remember that i've moved on,
so should you. so should you pack up your car and plastic
boxes and move across the country and the whole ride,
have some hussy on the phone with you telling jokes that are
in no way as funny or as long as mine. she'll kill the joke
before you do, guaranteed. and while i single-handedly fund
the duracell corporation with my needs and desires, you hold
your own life in your hands. and i let the rope holding you go.
i will only take responsibility for myself from here on out.
