I am forever taking the path of least resistance,

Always looking for the easy way, not going the distance.

Though I want so much more out of my life,

I content myself with such an angst, such strife.

In this life, I know I will never be free.

Just going through the motions, this is me.

On this primrose path of dalliance I dwell,

Barely existing, living in my self-imposed hell.
