if it were by Anastasia SelbyI hope it's not a cul-de-sac.
I can't even remember
what we were laughing about
eight months ago
on that old couch,
naked and drunk,
but we've ended up here,
together,
in the closest quarters, and
now we move south
for the winter
when what I want
is to climb deeper
into an unknown area.
Sitting in front of this computer
confuses me more
every day.
What am I trying to escape into?
What am I delaying?

Posted by JD Clay on 08/25/08 at 07:39 PM Oh, this is very, very, introspective, Ana. Digging hard and deep into your self, finding questions lead to questions, more and more. I love the inward concept of your poem and your revelation unresolved. But then again, this poem leads us all to one step closer in healing the heart and soul. Where the one and only answer lies. Good stuff! |
